The Growing World of Toddlers

From Baby Steps to Giant Leaps: Early Childhood Development at its Best

Our Growing World of Toddlers program uses hands-on exploration and social interaction in safe, engaging surroundings to help your child learn about his or her expanding world. Through the guidance of our early childhood development professionals, toddlers enjoy learning experiences that promote their blossoming independence and social skills, and foster self-confidence.

Playing Time Is Learning Time

More than just daycare, a Bright Horizons program is designed to adapt the curriculum to each individual child’s age and stage. Teachers in the toddler classroom promote emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development in a fun, engaging environment by:

  • Targeting the changing needs of children ages 16 months to 3 years
  • Presenting age-appropriate learning opportunities to encourage individual skills and independent choices
  • Nurturing each individual child to build upon his/her strengths and encouraging exploration of their world using paint, water, board books, and more
  • Creating learning centers that include language and reading, construction, math, fine motor, art, dramatic play, science and sensory exploration, and outdoor learning
  • Providing activities to develop motor skills such as climbing and throwing
  • Establishing a relaxed environment to accommodate the unique disposition of the age group while fostering self-confidence and self-help skills
  • Offering opportunities for success that help toddlers build the confidence needed to reach their potential and prepare for preschool
